The powerhouse trio that is “The Máirtín O’Connor Trio” formed in the early noughties, quickly establishing themselves in the Irish music scene as a prime example of traditional mastery. Releasing seminal albums such as “Crossroads” and “Going Places” and touring their music across the globe in The US, The UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Including respected venues such as the Sydney Opera House. 

Having played alongside De Dannan, Midnightwell, Donal Lunny and Zoe Conway among many more, Máirtín Ó Connor’s name has been synonymous with the accordion for decades both as master of the instrument and as a composer/arranger. His skill, dexterity, innovation, and versatility and soft-spoken wit have won him acclaim around the world. 

Alongside Máirtín are two significant names in Irish traditional names in Irish music. Cathal Hayden, All Ireland champion in fiddle and banjo and integral member of “The Bow Brothers” and “Four Men and a Dog”. Cathal’s playing style is held in high regard across Ireland and the globe. Seamie O’Dowd is globally respected multi instrumentalist and singer having been nominated for an RTE Folk Award. A pillar in Irish traditional guitar backing, he is a previous member of Dervish and has performed alongside Christy Moore, Tommy Emmanuel, The Chieftains and more.

The trio continues to extend the boundaries of Irish music without compromising the fundamental tradition behind it, cementing them as innovative masters of their craft around the world.
