Do You Read Me: The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival* is an unapologetic amateur documentary shot in Ballyshannon, birthplace of the legendary guitarist Rory Gallagher. Through the voice of festival founder Barry O’Neill, festival stalwarts and attendees, the film explores why the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival was born and why it must continue.
The festival benefits the local economy, nurtures emerging artists, keeps Irish rhythm and blues alive and kicking, but at its core the foremost priority is Rory's Gallagher's legacy. However, this annual pilgrimage for many is at risk due to ever growing regulations, costs and hurdles.
Created by Stephen O’Dowd and Sarah Ploss, Do You Read Me is a nod to and celebration of a great festival carrying the torch of Rory's legacy.
