A celebration of film, music and local culture.

Strandhill Film and Folk Festival

Aug 29th - 31st 2025

An intimate and creatively-led festival that celebrates film, music and local culture.

Focusing on quality over quantity, the Strandhill Film and Folk Festival celebrates film, music and local culture through a curated weekend of screenings, performances, talks and workshops in the beautiful setting of Strandhill village, Sligo.

This boutique festival centres around St Anne’s Church which will be transformed into a stunning venue for the weekend. Within these old stone walls film screenings will be shown throughout the afternoon followed by an atmospheric folk performance from the altar later that evening. For those looking to keep the festivities going, there will be tunes continuing late into the evening in Brees Pub across the road.

Featuring both paid and free events, the weekend will also hold talks, workshops and panel discussions, exploring themes within film, music and diversity. In celebrating our local culture, the Sense of Place day brings talks, exhibitions and workshops that delve into local folklore, literature, nature and biodiversity.

We are very excited to announce full details soon!
